Schools will close for two weeks for paper marking


The Examinations Department announces that some schools will be closed from August 29 to September 13, to facilitate G.C.E. (A/L) and Grade Five scholarship examination paper marking.

Examinations Commissioner W.M.N.J. Pushpakumara said six schools would be closed completely and 21 during school hours only, for evaluation of the G.C.E. (A/L) examination.

The schools completely closed will re-open on September 13 while the others will re-open on August 31, he added.

Thirty-five schools would be closed completely for the Grade Five scholarship examination evaluations, from August 29 to September 3, he said, while sections of four other schools will be closed during school hours.

The 35 schools completely closed will re-open on September 5, while the four others will re-open on August 31, as scheduled.
