Ex-Army personnels receive pensions for the first time in Sri Lanka

For the first time in Sri Lanka’s history, the government will be providing financial incentives to ex-soldiers, both disabled and able, who had been in the service for less than 12 years, sources revealed.

The President’s Media Division stated that 2261 ex-soldiers as well as 136 ex- police personnel had been presented with these incentives, in the form of a pension, at a ceremony held at the President’s office.
