Foundation laid for new hospital with bone marrow transplant facilities


The foundation stone was laid to build a hospital with facilities to conduct bone marrow transplants for Thalassemia patients.

The Health Ministry stated that the foundation stone was laid in the Kandy Base Hospital premises with the presence of the Minister of Health, Dr. Rajitha Senaratne.

The new hospital wing will reportedly be completed within a year, with the support of the Thalassemia Patients’ Circle and the Ministry of Health.

This new three-storied hospital wing will cost Rs. 1 billion, Ministry of Health states.
