Heavy rainfall to be expected in the Western Province again


The Western Province will receive heavy rainfall exceeding 100 ml today (19), Meteorological Department states.

They also stated that the sloped areas of the central highlands will experience moderately strong winds at a speed of approximately 50 kmph, and that the coastal areas of the island would experience strong winds blowing at a speed between 60 and 70 kmph.

The Department further said that the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, Central and North-Western provinces may experience thunderstorms, and added that the Eastern and Uva provinces were likely to experience thunderstorms in the evening hours.
